Death of the Centre










We were briefed to create a visual identity for an area of our choice. Me and Emily decided that Portland Street in Manchester is a key transportation link to the city centre (piccadilly). 


I really wanted to stay clear of the stereotypical font of Helvetica. Instead created a playful font for the street but out of blocks that are from the buildings on the street themselve

Proposal Form



This proposal form is a mock up of what I’d give to the council. It includes specifications for signage and includes the colour pallette that helps build the full identity I made for the street.


The paper is 80gsm recycled paper. The lightweight paper will help reduce postage costs in addition to paper costs, allowing for multiple copies to be printed. I also used a powder on top of the ink to slightly raise it.
